Former professional basketball player Enes Kanter Freedom has strongly condemned the recent attack on Israel by the Islamist movement Hamas, which has led to the loss of numerous innocent lives. Kanter Freedom expressed his views in a statement to Fox News Digital, emphasizing the importance of addressing the situation in Israel without justifications. He made it clear that these acts of terrorism could not be softened with 'buts' and highlighted that the loss of innocent lives is unacceptable.
With unwavering conviction, Kanter Freedom, a Muslim, asserted that the recent occurrences were incongruent with the teachings of Islam, which uphold the value of all human life. In unison with the wronged civilians of Israel, he decidedly denounced the aggression perpetuated by Hamas. In his perspective, Hamas's continued gratuitous acts of terror bear the weight of disrupting the peaceful prospects for Palestine. Even amongst his Palestinian comrades, a notable number disapprove of Hamas's actions.
From the Gaza Strip, Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists infiltrated certain areas of southern Israel and unleashed multiple rocket attacks, which led to considerable destruction and casualties on both sides. President Biden stood by Israel's right to defend itself and denounced the acts of terrorism.
Kanter Freedom has been an advocate for human rights worldwide and has previously focused on issues such as the situation in Tibet and human rights abuses in China. Despite his efforts, he has not played in the NBA since being traded by the Boston Celtics to the Houston Rockets in February 2022, with no team reaching out to him or his agent regarding his services.
In condemning the violence in Israel, Kanter Freedom continues to use his platform to draw attention to issues of global significance and emphasize the importance of peace and solidarity with innocent people affected by conflicts.
